Jedward set for Xmas no.1 with charity release
It is, perhaps, the only time that the editorial staff here at Give Charity Donation will back anyone from X Factor, and even John and Edward, otherwise known as Jedward, as they gun for the Xmas no. 1 with a cover of Michael Jackson’s gruesome “You are not alone”.
All twelve acts, including the five losers so far, will return to perform for the benefit of Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The single goes on sale this Monday, and is available for pre-order. Last year’s version of Mariah Carey’s hero raised more than £1m for the Help for Heroes charity, so we’re backing this one, even if it is a wretched song sung by wretched people – at least they’re doing one good thing.
Twins John and Edward said of their visit to Great Ormond Street Hospital: “It meant such a lot to us to meet the children at Great Ormond Street. It was really great to get to chat to them.” They said they hope the single “will light up the faces of so many”.
Fellow finalist Jamie Archer went on to say that: “It’s really great that we’ve been able to use all the attention The X Factor has been getting and put it to good use.”
We say: We’re afraid we’ve already let our thoughts slip in this article, and there’s no going back. They’re finally doing some good – and at last. X Factor is an evil, twisted show that has finally realised it can be of benefit to people other than Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh, whose pockets have been well and truly lined by this manufactured rubbish.
Great Ormond Street Hospital is a great charity, and deserves to benefit from the millions of pounds that this song will make. We, however, would rather give them our money independently of the song – and we suggest you do the same. In fact, give them a little more.

I hope the song does well too. It’s good reading about people that are up to things bigger than themselves.
In tough economic times, it’s easy to get in our shell, but if we can see others as ourselves we can be less protective and more giving. I would say more fulfilled too. As far as charity, and a unique idea on that, are even a few companies that are designed around the idea of building income for the one who joins and donates while allocating funds to the charity of one’s choice at the same time. I found this one which I joined because I know there are some great people involved. Sounds like a win-win to me.
